Spring-Ford Rotary Club Programs

Each year, our club members participate and/or sponsor a number of events that help make our community a better place to live and work.

Adopt-A-Family Event | Spring-Ford Rotary Club

Adopt-A-Family

Each year we buy, wrap and distribute holiday gifts to more than 100 local children. We’re proud to work with local churches, schools and non-profit organizations to identify children in our area that otherwise may not have any presents to open on Christmas.

Volunteer Opportunities at Spring-Ford Rotary Club

Operation 143

Unfortunately, Childhood poverty is in all of our communities. Operation 143 sends children participating in the program home with backpacks full of easy to prepare food to bridge the gap of the weekend, with enough food for dinner Friday and breakfast, lunch, and dinner Saturday and Sunday. The Spring-Ford Rotary Club is proud to support this program. Each year, club members volunteer to stuff backpacks with the provisions.

4-Way Speech Contest | Spring-Ford Rotary Club

4-Way Speech Contest

Our club sponsors this annual speech contest featuring local high-school students giving speeches on topics of interest to them and following the Rotary 4-Way Test. Winners from our club then go on to compete in the regional contest.

Perkiomen Stream Clean-Up

Every April, the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy hosts a single-day watershed wide event focused on removing litter, tires and other debris from regional waterways. Since its creation in 2004, the Perkiomen Stream Clean-up has grown to become the largest single-day stream clean-up in the state of Pennsylvania with 1,700 volunteers participating in 2023! The Spring-Ford Rotary Club is a proud participant in this program.

Christmas Lights Contest | Spring-Ford Rotary Club

Holiday Lights Contest

The holidays are a time of joy, and there aren’t many things that bring joy like a well decorated holiday home. Each year, we sponsor a holiday lights contest open to residents in our club’s area. We receive many nominations each year, and our judging panel has their work cut out for them trying to determine which homes are the best. The top two homes receive a monetary prize along with a custom plaque.
